Acetic Acid (Avantor GLACIAL USP 2502-21 40LB)
When this chemical is undiluted, it is called glacial acetic acid. In concentrated doses, it can be harmful to the skin and other organs. The liquid is clear and colorless and produces a strong, foul odor. Usually, acetic acid (also known as ethanoic acid) is in liquid form, but it can be crystallized as well.
Acetic acid is used as a chemical reagent in the formation of cellulose acetate, vinyl acetate, and polyvinyl acetate. These compounds are then employed in the production of photographic film, some plastics, and wood glue, and resins, respectively. You can also find acetic acid in the food industry as it forms naturally and can be found in vinegar.
This substance in concentrated forms is hazardous to humans. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and lungs, and prevent ingestion. Wear safety goggles, gloves, and a breathing mask when handling this corrosive and highly flammable chemical.
