Alconox® is an anionic detergent used for cleaning items like healthcare instruments, catheters, laboratory wares, protective equipment, items contaminated by radiation, and electronic components. It has a solubility of up to 10% in water.
Alconox ingredients are a homogenous mix of alcohol sulfate, sodium linear alkylaryl sulfonate, carbonates, and phosphates. The solution can be found in powder form in white or cream-colored flakes. It’s very effective when used on hard water and has an average shelf life of 24 months.
The cleaner can be used on a variety of surfaces including porcelain, stainless steel, metal, glass, plastic, ceramic, fiberglass, and rubber. It’s also safe to use on soft metals like copper, zinc, aluminum, and magnesium if the surfaces are properly rinsed.
It’s capable of removing grime, grit, soil, slime, buffing compound, grease, tissue, blood, oils, solvents, particulates, deposits, salts, mold release agents, silicon oils, radioactive contamination, radioisotopes, and chemicals.
