Ammonium Persulfate is a colorless salt solution that is similar to potassium salts as it is highly soluble in water using the endothermic process. As a strong oxidizer, the inorganic compound is used as a technical chemical in polymer chemistry and as a corrosive chemical during plate etching in the print industry. Most commonly, Ammonium Persulfate is used as a bleaching agent in the cosmetics industry and also to bleach baking flour.
Many commercial polymers are prepared using Ammonium Persulfate , including Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and styrene-butadiene rubber. Always refer to the Ammonium Persulfate SDS or as the Ammonium Persulfate MSDS as the product causes acute toxicitywhen ingested and serious skin corrosion and eye damage when in contact.
