Iodine Sublimed

Iodine is a chemical element that is violet or purple when taking the form of a vaporous gas and is commonly used, in both its purest forms and as its compounds, in nutrition and industrially in the production and manufacturing of acetic acids and certain polymer products like plastics.

Iodine is sublimed under the process of heating and is then recrystallized again under the process of cooling. Iodine sublimes rather than melts because the iodine molecules are held together by covalent bonds, the forces binding them together are very weak which means they can more easily escape or reform into the structure.
