Micropure Electronic Grade (EG)
This organic compound is a high purity version of N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone. Used as a solvent in electronics manufacturing, Micropure EG solvent is primarily implemented when preparing solutions of polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) when it is used as a cathode binder, particularly in cathode slurries used for coating aluminum foil as well as solvent recovery systems. In order to be considered Electronics Grade, Micropure EG must meet all of the following criteria:
-Low color <= 20 APHA
-Low moisture content <=200 ppm
-Low metal content ,<= 10 ppb
In addition to cathode binding, Micropure EG is also used extensively in the manufacturing process of lithium-ion batteries. Due to the exacting nature of their manufacturing process, the lowest possible content of color, moisture, and metals is necessary to prevent uncontrolled reactions with the components of the battery cell. Micropure EG easily meets those specifications, which makes it an ideal choice for the lithium ion battery manufacturing process.
