Propylene Glycol USP
Propylene Glycol USP is an organic compound that is a clear and colorless liquid. It is almost odorless yet has a slightly sweet taste, making it the perfect chemical to be used in liquid cartridges found in e-vape cigarettes. It is mixable with acetone, water and chloroform, and is commonly found in numerous household products.
Besides vape cigarettes, propylene glycol USP is used as a carrier liquid in fragrances, massage oils, deodorant sticks, food coloring, hand sanitizers, food coloring, and even in smoke producing machines used in theatrical productions for visual effects. The chemical is also used as a cooling agent for beer and wine, and as a coolant in some liquid cooling systems. The versatile compound is found in some cosmetic products, cake mixes, sodas, salad dressings and toiletries. One of it's most unique purposes is as an ingredient in ultra violet or blacklight tattoo ink.
In small quantities Propylene Glycol USP is generally non-irritating to skin and is very safe if orally administered through swallowing or breathing.
